Fungal Nails

Fungal nails refer to a number of fungi that can grow in and on the nail. The fungi are similar to that of Athletes Foot, however, they are significantly harder to treat due to their position under and in the nail.

Fungal nail infections present as a white, yellow or brown discoloration followed by an eventual thickening and crumbling of the nail (nail rot).

Applying topical anti fungal nail solutions is an effective way to treat fungal nails, however it can be a slow going process.

To speed up the process your podiatrist at Franskton Podiatry can manually remove much of the infected nail and help expose the fungus so that the topical solution is more effective.
